The Boston College women’s soccer team captured their second ACC win of the season, knocking off #18 Wake Forest 1-0 Sunday afternoon at Newton. The win brought the Eagles to 2-1 in ACC play and 8-4 overall.

Sophomore Olivia Vaughn scored the game’s only goal, converting in the 74th minutes to give BC a lead that they would hold on to for the rest of the way. Alexis Bryant made three saves on the day including one in the game’s dying minutes to record her fifth shutout of the season and her fourth in the last five games. The Eagles continue to be a strong defensive team, having allowed only 11 goals thus far and only five in the last 10 games.

Boston College had the better of the chances for the majority of the game, hitting the crossbar once and having another goal called back after an offside call. Vaughn finally broke through with just over 15 minutes remaining when she netted her fifth goal of the season.

BC will get a bit of a break this week, with no midweek game. The Eagles will travel to Blacksburg on Saturday when they take on Virigina Tech.
