Boston College Women’s Soccer Shut Out By NC State

Good goaltending couldn’t earn the Eagles a victory

The Boston College women’s soccer team fell to NC State by a score of 1-0 earlier this evening and fell to 1-1 in the ACC. The game was BC’s first ACC game on the road this season.

The Eagles outshot NC State 6-5, but had only 2 shots on goal to NC State’s 4. The Eagles dominated at the beginning of the game, but NC State started putting the pressure on later in the first half and kept it up throughout.

The game remained scoreless for nearly all of regulation, thanks in no small part to 3 solid saves by BC goaltender Alexis Bryant. Unfortunately for the Eagles, NC State’s Tziarra King lofted the ball just over Bryant’s head with only 38 seconds remaining in the game to give the Wolfpack the 1-0 victory.

The Eagles will return to Boston College on Sunday, when they will face Wake Forest at home in hopes of improving to 2-1 in ACC play.
