Boston College Football Recruiting: OL Khris Banks Decommits From Eagles

BC loses a coveted NJ recruit

NCAA Football: Connecticut at Boston College Brian Fluharty-USA TODAY Sports

Steve Addazio and the Boston College football staff got more bad news this week as DePalma Catholic OL/DL Khris Banks has decided to re-open his commitment and decommit from the Eagles.

According to NJ.com

“It’s nothing against BC,” Banks, a senior, told NJ.com. “I just felt like I made too early of a decision. And I just felt like I need to take a few steps back and really look at all my options and focus on the season. It’s nothing against BC, nothing at all. They are a great program, a great school.”

Banks had previously committed to Rutgers before decommiting and pledging to the Eagles. He has offers from Temple, Buffalo, Kent State and others, and according to the article Maryland and Pittsburgh have been lurking and could be ready to pounce with an offer. He also says he hasn’t shut the door on Boston College yet, so take that for what it is worth.

Of course, you have to worry about these decisions happening when a team is struggling. Some recruits have to be watching the results on TV and worrying, others may not. But if BC continues to struggle expect more news like this moving forward.
