The Boston College women’s soccer team earned an important victory today, winning its first game of the season by a score of 2-0. The Eagles were evenly matched with their opponents from Louisville on most fronts, but better shooting accuracy earned them a distinct advantage.

The Eagles scored once in each half to earn the 2-0 victory. Sam Coffey scored the game-winner at minute 37 with a terrific shot from 24 yards out. Coffey’s shot went high into the corner of the net, giving Louisville’s goalie no chance for a save. With 3 minutes left in the game, Olivia Vaughn secured the lead off of a set-up by Lauren Berman and Kayla Jennings. Boston College goaltender Alexis Bryant earned her 4th shutout of the season in today’s win.

The Eagles will look to improve their ACC record to 2-0 on Thursday when they take on NC State.
