Guess The Attendance: BC - Notre Dame

There really is only one question to ask

NCAA Football: Georgia at Notre Dame
Sold out in South Bend, what about Chestnut Hill?
Matt Cashore-USA TODAY Sports

In any prior year, there wouldn’t be a lot of sense in creating a post around attendance for a Notre Dame home game. The Eagles and Irish have squared off ten times in the Boston market (1 in Foxboro, 1 at Fenway and 8 at Alumni Stadium) since 1975 with every one of the games completely sold out.

The 1975 meeting at Schaefer Stadium will forever hold the facility record for the largest crowd to ever see a football game while the 1994 match up at Alumni, the Irish’s first trip to Chestnut Hill, was one of the more anticipated regular season games in Boston football history to that point with top tickets going for $500 or more.

2017 though brings a first. The BCAA announced that limited tickets remain for BC-ND on Saturday afternoon.

Having spoken with numerous ticket vendors in market, demand has actually waned the closer the game gets with businesses like Ace Ticket, Higs Ticket, South Shore Ticket, among others, with no interest in taking seats at any price.

As of Tuesday morning nearly 3,000 remained available on StubHub and those which have sold, in general, have gone significantly below face value. Parking passes for the event have sold better than the tickets.

To the naked eye, there appeared to be some fudging of the figures in the Wake game, where it looked more like 32,000 or so then the announced 38,000....sooooo....

Does BC-Notre Dame 2017, legitimately sell out?

What do you think?
