Latara King Named Boston College Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach

King replaces Marsha Frese

BC vs Hofstra

Boston College announced today that Latara King has joined the women’s basketball team as an assistant coach. King replaces Marsha Frese, who has resigned for personal reasons. Frese was hired by the team this May. King will join head coach Erik Johnson, associate head coach Yvonne Hawkins, and Assistant Coach Thomas Garrick behind the bench of BC’s struggling WBB program.

King comes to Boston College from Monmouth, where she served as an assistant coach. Her specific duties included recruiting and running basketball camps. She specialized in coaching guards. King is expected to act as a recruiting coordinator and to continue to focus on coaching guards at BC.

Prior to working at Monmouth, King was a graduate assistant for Florida State’s women’s basketball program. As a player, King was a 3 year starter and 2 year captain at Florida Memorial University. She led her team to a Sun Conference Championship and DII NCAA Tournament appearance during her senior season.

Welcome to the Heights, Coach King!
