Name: Tommy Sweeney
Position: Tight End
Number: 89
Year: Junior
Height: 6’5”
Weight: 255
Hometown: Ramsey, New Jersey
High School: Don Bosco Prep
2016 Stats: Sweeney started all 13 games last year, placing 3rd on the team with 353 receiving yards. He also had three touchdowns, the most important of which was the game winner against NC State. He also scored the go ahead touchdown against Wake Forest.
Projections: Sweeney should be one of the focal points of the offense this year, and he might really blossom in the new offense. He’s a good runner with soft hands, and probably one of the most reliable targets on the team. But at the end of the day, his stats will be heavily linked to the QB play. If Darius Wade or Anthony Brown can get him the ball, he should be a top TE in the ACC.
Over/Under: 500 yards and 6 TDs
How’d He Get Here: A2-star, BC was the only school that offered Sweeney according to 247sports. He had interest from Rutgers and Notre Dame.
You can see his skills as a receiver in his high school tape, though it is apparent he’s really bulked up in his time as an Eagle.
