The ACC has released the 2017 preseason poll for women’s soccer and Boston College is ranked 10th. The poll is decided by the conference’s 14 coaches. Last season, the Eagles finished the season in 11th place in the ACC, going 3-7-0 in conference play after a hot non-conference start to the season. Two of BC’s ACC wins came against low-ranked Syracuse and Pittsburgh, but they also earned a huge upset win against top-ranked Florida State.
The complete preseason poll is as follows:
1. Florida State (186 points)
2. North Carolina (172 points)
3. Duke (170 points)
4. Virginia (160 points)
5. Notre Dame (145 points)
6. Clemson (120 points)
7. NC State (104 points)
8. Virginia Tech (91 points)
9. Wake Forest (72 points)
10. Boston College (71 points)
11. Miami (65 points)
12. Louisville (63 points)
13. Syracuse (33 points)
14. Pitt (18 points)
BC opens the 2017 season on August 18 in the JMU Tournament and begins ACC play against Louisville on September 17.
