Boston College Baseball Welcomes Six Newcomers to the Program

The class of 2021 contains three pitchers and three position players

Boston College Athletics

On Monday, August 28th, Head Coach Mike Gambino introduced the newest members of the Boston College baseball team.

The class of 2021 contains six players from five states, and includes three pitchers and three position players. This a relatively small class compared to others that Gambino has brought in, but, as he put it, it's better to find the right players, as opposed to the most players.

"At a time when recruiting classes are judged on size, we are concerned with the quality of student-athletes in our class," he told BCEagles.com. "For us, it's about the right number of players and the right kind of individual who fits our program."

The new freshman class includes:

Nick Couhig, RHP, Falmouth, Mass.

Reyce Curnane, 1B/OF, West Chester, Pa.

Chris Galland, OF, Sudbury, Mass.

Will Hesslink, LHP, Shelburne, Vt.

Jack Hodgson, RHP, Guilford, Conn.

Brandon Stone, C/INF, Port St. Lucie, Fla.

The class of 2021 comes to BC with numerous accolades and will look to help a team that finished the 2017 season with a 25-28 record and made an appearance in the ACC Tournament reach new levels of success. We should know more about this class and its capabilities when fall ball starts in a few weeks. Until then, welcome to Heights, freshmen!
