Boston College Men’s Soccer Plays UMass-Lowell to a Scoreless Draw in its Last Preseason Tuneup

The Boston College Men’s Soccer team took the field against UMass-Lowell in its last preseason scrimmage at the Newton Campus Soccer Field. The number 18 Riverhawks and the Eagles each had good opportunities in the first half, which culminated in BC keeper Cedric Saladin making a couple of tough saves on Lowell’s free kicks.

Boston College’s junior forward Simon Enstrom had the first four strong chances for the Eagles, two in the first half and two in the second half, which were all unsuccessful. Coach Ed Kelly finally got chances from players other than Enstrom when Henry Balf and Adam French both pushed forward, but were ultimately denied.

The Eagles outshot the Riverhawks 3-2, but neither team was able to sneak a shot past the other’s goalkeeper as the game ended in a 0-0 draw.

Boston College will open its season on Friday, August 25th, against Quinnipiac at home.
