This weekend, Boston College women’s soccer begins the regular season, traveling to Virginia for the JMU Tournament. The Eagles open the season tomorrow (August 18) at 7 PM against James Madison. Boston College will then play William & Mary at 11:30 AM on Sunday, August 20. Providence is the other school participating in this weekend’s games at JMU.
The Eagles have played one game so far this season, picking up a 4-0 preseason win against #18 UConn (the Eagles are currently #61). James Madison’s team has played two preseason games, winning both by a score of 2-0. Radford and Marshall, the schools JMU has played, both should have been easy wins JMU, so the victories don’t tell us much about the state of their squad. William and Mary lost a pre-season game to Wake Forest 5-1 last week.
Both James Madison and William & Mary are ranked significantly below BC, so the Eagles should be confident going into the tournament after last week’s upset over the Huskies. BC should be particularly confident going into Sunday’s game with William & Mary, as the Eagles should be a better team this season than the Demon Deacons that so easily defeated William & Mary are.
This weekend’s games will not be available to stream, but @BC_WSOC will be live tweeting them.
