Boston College men’s soccer got its season underway today, traveling to Whippany, New Jersey for an exhibition against NY Red Bulls II. While the 4-0 loss was not the result head coach Ed Kelly wanted to see, he said on bceagles.com that he believed that it was a good experience for the Eagles to play against the young pros of the Red Bulls. He also believed that BC battled well in the first half, playing the Red Bulls essentially evenly in the first 45 minutes, going into the locker room down 1-0, before being overwhelmed in the second half, giving up three goals.
Boston College has one more exhibition match, on Saturday, August 19th against UMass Lowell before the season starts against Quinnipiac on Friday, August 25th.
