CBS Sports Releases Their Preseason Hot Seat Rankings: Where Does Addazio Land?

Every summer, Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports releases his “Hot Seat Rankings” a system of showing where coaches fall in terms of their job security going into the upcoming season. The system is pretty easy and goes as follows:

0- Untouchable

1- Safe and Secure

2- All good...for now

3- Pressure is mounting

4- Start Improving Now

5- Win or be Fired

Now to give you some context, there are 12 untouchable coaches including Nick Saban, Dabo Swinney, Joe Moglia of Coastal Carolina (??), and Jimbo Fisher. There are only two rated a “5”, which means they are in high risk of being fired, and those coaches were Kevin Sumlin of Texas A&M and Brian Kelly of Notre Dame.

Where did Steve Addazio land? He was ranked a three by Dodd, which given the rankings seems to make sense. However, I have to wonder if things fall apart for him this year and BC does struggle, how quickly would he fall to a 4 or 5. You have to imagine that would be pretty quick given his 2015 performance and a new athletic director who is looking to make a splash at Boston College.

What do you think. Was the rating too high, too low or did Dodd nail it? Leave your thoughts in the comment section.
