The US Women’s Lacrosse Team is currently competing in the 2017 FIL Rathbones World Cup with hopes to defend their title. Competing on the team is Kayla Treanor, BC’s newest assistant coach. Treanor was a standout player at Syracuse and has spent a year coaching at Harvard while playing for Boston’s professional women’s lacrosse team and continuing to play for the US.

The FIL World Cup is played every 4 years and this is the 10th ever Women’s World Cup. Team US has won 7 championships, while Australia has won the other 2. This year, a record 25 teams are competing for the trophy.

Team US opened the tournament against Scotland, and ended up with a 19-3 victory. Treanor led the US (and the game) in points and assists, scoring 3 goals and recording 3 helpers. The US moves on to play Australia at 10 AM ET tomorrow morning. You can watch the match here for $5.
