Meet the Incoming Boston College Men’s Soccer Class

6 players are joining the squad in the fall

The Boston College men’s soccer team announced the 2017 incoming class today, which consists of 6 players. The Eagles have lost star player Zeiko Lewis to graduation, but have a number of skilled incoming players. The new players include Heidar Aegisson, Nikita Bondar, Ian Buehler, Antonio Chavez Borelli, Beto Luna, and Jose Palomo.

Heidar Aegisson: Aegisson comes to BC from Gardabaer College in Iceland. He will enter as a sophomore, but will have 4 years of NCAA eligibility. He is a midfield/back and has played for Iceland's Under-21 and Under-19 National Teams. He has 8 U-21 caps.

Nikita Bondar: Bondar is a native of Kharkiv, Ukraine. The forward has spent the past 6 years playing in Germany, where he has helped Hamburg win the Bundesliga junior league 3 times. He was a member of Ukraine’s U-17 team

Ian Buehler: Buehler is a freshman midfield/back from California. He played for Marin Academy, where he helped the team to advance to the state championship tournament four years in a row. He played club soccer for Juventus Academy and Marin FC.

Antonio Chavez Borelli: Borelli, a goalie, led his high school team to the 2016 CIF SoCal Boys Division I championship. He has a .64 goals against average and was the Most Valuable Goaltender winner in 2017.

Beto Luna: Luna is a forward from Florida who spent 4 years with Weston FC. He started all but 3 games last season and scored 14 goals, a 10 goal increase over the 2015-16 season.

Jose Palomo: Palomo is a 6-foot tall defender from El Salvador. He has also played center. Palomo is a former member of El Salvador’s Under-17 and Under-20 teams, and captained both squads.
