In a game dedicated to her father, Tatiana Cortez was the star of the show on Senior Day at the Heights, hitting the walk-off, two run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning, which put the finishing touches on a 6-1 comeback and earned her BCI’s Play of the Year.
The game was dedicated to the seniors on BC Softball and Ronny Cortez, Tatiana’s father, who is a Wounded Warrior from his 25 years of dedication to the Houston Police Department.
BC decided that Senior Day would double as “Back the Blue Day” with police officers from all over Massachusetts making their way to the Heights to show support and love to the Cortez family.
As Cortez came up in the bottom of the seventh, down by one run, and hit her second home run of the day, BC’s all time leader in home runs and RBI came in clutch once again, not just for her teammates, but for her Dad, which earns her BCI’s Play of the Year.
