Name: Sharrieff Grice
Postion: Linebacker
Number: 26
Year: Junior
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 224
Hometown: Naugatuck, CT
High School: Kingswood Oxford
2016 Stats (from BCeagles.com): Played in 12 games, making one start at middle linebacker…appeared in 138 special-team plays…finished the season with 15 tackles, including 1.5 tackles-for-loss and one sack…part of the defense that ranked on eight top-10 lists, including ninth in total defense (314.2 yards/game), second in sacks (3.62 sacks/game) and 10th in turnovers gained (27)…BC defense tied the school record with eight sacks twice, at Massachusetts (Sept. 10) and vs. Maryland (Dec. 26) and recorded at least 10 tackles-for-loss four times…BC’s 47 sacks on the season tied the school record set in 1994…recorded first career solo tackle and finished the game with two against Massachusetts (Sept. 10)…tallied first career tackle-for- loss against Buffalo (Oct. 1)...made first career start against Syracuse (Oct. 22) and registered a career-high six tackles including his first career solo sack.
Prediction: Expect Grice to play in nearly all of the games for the Eagles this year, but I doubt that he will crack the starting lineup with strong linebackers ahead of him on the depth chart. He could get his tackles up to over 20 for the season, however, as well as being a stalwart on special teams.
How He got Here: A 2* recruit out of Connecticut, Grice committed as a running back, choosing BC over UNH and Albany, which you can see here.
