Tonight and tomorrow, NHL teams will make their selections in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. In the NHL, players are eligible to be drafted if they will be 18 years old on or before September 15 of that year. Being drafted does not cause a player to lose NCAA eligibility, and a team will retain an NCAA drafted player’s rights until August 15 following what would be that player’s senior year of college.
This year, BC has 5 eligible recruits (Joey Cassetti, Logan Hutsko, Michael Karow, Marc McLaughlin, and Jacob Tortora) and 2 eligible current players (Zach Walker and Luke McInnis). Eeli Tolvanen was the only future Eagle that is projected to go in the first round, but he is a future Eagle no longer.
