Name: Thadd Smith
Position: Wide Receiver
Number: #18
Year: Senior
Height: 5-foot-9
Weight: 181 lbs.
Hometown: Yeadon, PA
High School: Cardinal O’Hara
2016 Stats: Smith had a reduced role on the BC offense last year and managed only four catches on the season.
2015 Stats: Smith had his best year in ’15 making a career high 17 receptions for 233 yards and two touchdowns. Sadly he also led the team in receptions and receiving yards that year as well. Smith had a breakout game against Duke in ’15 when he had 4 catches for 99 yards and a touchdown while also having a 25 yard touchdown that was ruled incomplete by the refs despite replay showing it should have been a catch
2017 Projections: Smith wasn’t able to separate himself from the log jam of players at wide receiver last season. This year he will have to fight against guys like Charlie Callinan, Elijah Robinson, Jeff Smith, Mike Walker, Ben Glines and Nolan Borgersen to name a few. In 2015 Smith was clearly one of the top two fastest wideouts on the team and as such was the team’s primary deep threat. With players like Robinson and Smith joining the group at wide receiver last year it made Smith’s deep play ability stick out a whole lot less.
How'd He Get Here: A three star wide receiver from Pennsylvania, Thadd chose Boston College over James Madison, Rutgers, Temple and Toledo. His primary recruiter was Ryan Day.
