Name: Troy Flutie
Position: Wide Receiver
Number: #15
Year: Junior
Height: 6-foot-0
Weight: 180 lbs.
Hometown: Natick, MA
High School: Natick
2016 Stats: Was the place kick holder for 11 games.
2015 Stats: Was starting quarterback in 8 games (either as a starter or reserve). Finished the season going 24 for 49 for 382 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.
2017 Projections: Flutie did an admirable job as place kick holder in 2016 (no joke, it had been a mess for the Eagles for multiple years). Have to imagine that he will continue in that role. Will he get to play any wide receiver this year? He’d really have to earn it with Thadd Smith, Charlie Callinan, Jeff Smith, Mike Walker and most likely Ben Glines and Nolan Borgersen being higher than Flutie on the depth chart.
How'd He Get Here: A two star quarterback out of Natick, Flutie chose Boston College as it was his only offer.
Darren Flutie On Why Troy Chose Boston College: ""It is BC, and now we have generations going here, but I can tell you it's a whole different feel," Darren said. "Coach Addazio is a whole different element. He made it very clear to Troy, 'I'm so glad your father, your uncle and your cousin came here; [but] I wouldn’t offer a scholarship to a kid unless I thought he could help us at BC, what I saw Sunday and what I saw on your film, you're a football player and you're gonna help us win games'."
