Better Know an Eagle 2017: #3 Wide Receiver Michael Walker

Walker enters his Junior year for the Eagles

Michael Walker Junior Wide Receiver

Name: Michael Walker

Number: 3

Position: Wide Receiver

Height: 6’0”

Weight: 195

Hometown: Naples, Florida

High School: Naples High School

2016 Stats: Appeared in all 13 games for the Eagles, including an outstanding performance in the Quicklane Bowl victory over Maryland with 3 catches, 63 yards, and a 1 TD. Over the course of the season he led Eagles wideouts with 33 catches, 420 yards, and 4 TDs. In addition, he was occasionally used as a kick returner.

Projection: Walker missed all of spring practice after surgery but should retain his spot at the top of the depth chart.

Over/Under: Walker showed great strides last year by pacing the receiving corps, and will undoubtedly improve. Of course, much of his success will depend on the QB throwing him the ball, but expect no less than 45 catches, 500 yards, and 6 scores for this budding star.

How’d he get here: Michael chose the Eagles over Arizona, Arkansas State, Florida International, and UCF. While playing QB at Naples High School in Florida, he was named the News Press Southwest Florida Male Athlete of the Year and the Naples Daily News Offensive Player of the Year. In addition he ranked second in the state with 160 points during the 2014 campaign.

Check out his Hudl film:

Quotables from ‘Daz: “He’s got great speed, and when a guy has great moves that are subtle, he’s got the subtle wiggle to him, he’s a real football player. There is a guy that I think is going to be a real emerger not just on special teams but at receiver. He’s got really good skills, really good hands, he’s physical, and he can run. He’s got speed and I am really impressed with his development.” - Coach Addazio, prior to BC’s 2015 game vs. NC State
