Better Know An Eagle 2017: #1 Wide Receiver Elijah Robinson

It’s his third season as a WR, will he be a weapon in the new offense?

NCAA Football: Notre Dame vs Boston College Matt Cashore-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Elijah Robinson

Position: Wide Receiver

Number: 1

Year: Junior

Height: 6’0”

Weight: 197

Hometown: Montclair, NJ

High School: Montclair

2016 Stats: Played in 12 games … recorded 83 snaps on special teams … made first career tackle against Massachusetts (Sept. 10). (via BCEagles.com)

Projections: Robinson was a starting wide receiver in 2015 right out of the gate, recording 11 receptions for 111 yards, but last season he didn’t see much playing time. He struggled with drops his freshman year, which probably was par for the course given that he switched from quarterback to wide out. He found a niche last year on special teams, but if the spring game was any indication he could find his way back on the offense again in 2017. Given the depth chart he is probably going to be behind Charlie Callinan, Jeff Smith, Michael Walker and possible Ben Glines/Thadd Smith.

Over/Under: 10 catches

How’d He Get Here: A 2015 3* quarterback out of Montclair New Jersey, he had claimed offers from Michigan State, Nebraska, Virginia, Temple, Air Force and lesser schools like UConn.
