On Friday night, the Boston College women’s lacrosse team played in their first ever NCAA Semifinals game. The Eagles came away with a close 16-15 victory over Navy, sending BC to the 2017 NCAA Championship. The Eagles were led by terrific offense from Kenzie Kent and Kate Weeks, and buoyed by some big late saves by Lauren Daly. BC will now face an undefeated Maryland team in the title game.
The Eagles lost to Maryland earlier this season, falling to the Terrapins by a score of 21-13 (at which point BC was playing without Kenzie Kent). #1 Maryland is the first top 5 team BC has played since losing to #3 UNC in the ACC Tournament. However, the Eagles destroyed #7 USC and #9 Syracuse in the NCAA Regionals. This will be a tough game, but don’t count BC out.
Teams:
Boston College Eagles (17-6, 3-4 ACC) vs.
Maryland Terrapins (22-0, 6-0 Big Ten)
Where: Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Massachusetts
Date: Sunday, May 28, 2017
