Later this morning, Team USA will face Finland in the quarterfinals of 2017 IIHF World Championship. The Americans went 6-1 in group play, winning 6 games in a row after losing their first game to Germany.

Boston College has 3 alumni on the Team USA roster: Johnny Gaudreau (Calgary Flames), Kevin Hayes (New York Rangers), and Noah Hanifin (Carolina Hurricanes). Gaudreau leads all Team USA players with 6 goals and 11 points. He and Hanifin have been with the team since the beginning of the tournament. Hayes joined the team after the Rangers were knocked out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He has played in 2 games for the Americans and already has 2 goals and 2 assists.

This game should be particularly fun for BC fans since Hayes and Gaudreau, who were linemates for the Eagles, have been playing together on Team USA as well.
