The Boston College women’s lacrosse team is headed to the Elite Eight after today’s huge win over Syracuse. After losing to Syracuse by 10 goals earlier this season, BC came back in big way today with a 21-10 victory.

The Eagles were led, as usual, by Sam Apuzzo, who had 5 goals and 2 assists today. Kayla O’Connor also recorded 7 points for BC, a career high.

In addition to Apuzzo, 4 other Eagles recorded hat tricks. Kate Weeks scored 4 goals, and Kenzie Kent, Kaileen Hart, and O’Connor scored 3 each. Laura Frankenfield and Mary Kate O’Neill also scored goals for the Eagles.

Zoe Ochoa and Lauren Daly split goaltending duties for BC, making 13 total saves.

This is only the second time in program history that the BC women’s lacrosse team has made the Elite Eight, and the only time the team has defeated Syracuse in post-season play.
