BC Softball played its second to last ACC series against the Wolfpack of NC State with strong poise and grit as they were able to come away with two wins and a series victory.
In the opener, Jessica Dreswick went the distance, giving up only four hits and no earned runs. Annie Murphy had a pair of RBI, and Chloe Shrabba, Jordan Chimento, and Dani Thomas each had one as the Eagles won, 5-1.
In the middle game, Dreswick again went the distance, this time giving up four runs over the seven innings. However, only Tatiana Cortez could push a run across and the Eagles lost, 4-1.
In the rubber match, the Eagles had one of their best comebacks of the year. Down 6-1 after the top of the fourth inning, BC scored the final six runs of the game and shocked the Wolfpack. Dreswick got hit hard, giving up six runs over four and a third innings. However, Jordan Weed came on in relief and was able to stunt any offense that State had. The comeback was ultimately completed on Cortez’s two run, walk off home-run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
