Eagles in the Pros 3/27 - 4/2: Brian Gionta Secures Win for Buffalo in His 1,000th Career NHL Game

Featuring Gionta’s big game, Patrick Eaves’ 30th goal of the season, and lots of points from Johnny Hockey.

The story of the week was Brian Gionta scoring the game-winner in his 1,000th career NHL game, but it was a big week for BC alums in general. Patrick Eaves hit 30 goals for the first time in his pro career, Matt Gaudreau signed with the Sound Tigers, and Colin White scored his first pro goal in the AHL and then earned an ELC with Ottawa.

NHL

Cam Atkinson (Columbus Blue Jackets): Atkinson scored the game-winner in Columbus’ 3-1 win over Buffalo last week. His 34th goal of the season was a high wrist shot.

Brian Boyle (Toronto Maple Leafs): Boyle helped to set up Auston Matthews’ game-winner against Detroit last week, earning his lone point of the week with an assist.

Paul Carey (Washington Capitals): Carey was a healthy scratch last week.

Brian Dumoulin (Pittsburgh Penguins): Dumoulin had 2 SOG, 4 hits, and 5 blocked shots over 3 games last week.

Patrick Eaves (Anaheim Ducks): Eaves scored three times last week and now has 30 goals in a season for the first time in his pro career. Here is his 30th goal of the season:
