Boston College And Ohio State Move Games To 2026 & 2027

Will this game ever happen?

NCAA Football: Fiesta Bowl-Ohio State vs Clemson Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

Boston College and Ohio State’s game has been moved again. For the second time Ohio State had to move the game to accommodate a newly scheduled game (this time against TCU). Per the BC press release:

“Boston College’s future home-and-home series with Ohio State has been moved to 2026 and 2027, both schools announced Thursday. The Eagles face the Buckeyes on Sept. 19, 2026 in Columbus at Ohio Stadium in the fourth meeting all-time between the two schools.

The two schools were previously scheduled to meet in 2023 and 2024.

The Buckeyes make their second appearance all-time at Alumni Stadium on Sept. 18, 2027.”

Clearly it appears that Boston College is low on the priority list for Ohio State, and understandably so. This brings up the question I think a lot of us are thinking “Will this game ever happen?”. If Ohio State values other games more than BC, will they just continue to push the Eagles off until eventually they decide to just cancel the series? Or will there come a point when this game will eventually happen? And now that BC has a few more slots to fill, who will they fit in for 2023 & 2024. Martin Jarmond now has a few more things on his plate when he takes over in June.

MattBC03 also broke down some of the details in a Fanpost, it’s really well done, and worth a read. Check it out here.
