42 players have been named to the 2017 U.S. Women's National Team Selection Camp roster, which will be used to select the team that will play in the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. The camp will be held from April 30-May 4 in Florida. 11 current and former Eagles will participate in this year’s selection camp in hopes of making the final cut.
There are 6 current Eagles on the selection camp roster. If any of these players make the team, they will take the year off of playing NCAA hockey and will return to BC for the 2018-19 season. These players are: Katie Burt (G), Cayla Barnes (D, incoming freshman), Kali Flanagan (D), Megan Keller (D), Caitrin Lonergan (F), and Makenna Newkirk (F).
The 5 Boston College alumni on the camp roster are: Emily Pfalzer (D), Alex Carpenter (F), Haley Skarupa (F), Kelli Stack (F), and Dana Trivigno (F).
Pfalzer, Flanagan, Keller, Carpenter, Skaupa, and Stack were all members of Team USA’s gold medal winning WWC squad this year. Kelli Stack and Alex Carpenter are the only Eagles on the roster to have played in the Olympics before.
