Boston College Field Hockey Names 2017 Captains

The Eagles will be led by two rising juniors.

Coach Kelly Doton has announced that Boston College field hockey will be captained by rising juniors Ymke Rose Gote and Frederique Haverhals next season. Gote and Haverhals are both natives of the Netherlands and have both been impact players for BC from the beginning of their collegiate careers.

Gote and Haverhals were both honored as National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Americans as sophomores. Gote was second on the Eagles in assists last season and was a member of the 2016 ACC All-Academic Team. Haverhals was one of only three sophomores to earn 2016 NFCHA First-Team All-America honors last year. She was fourth on the team in scoring with 17 points and was also a member of the 2016 All-Academic Team.

The Eagles went 10-10 overall last season and earned a 3-3 record in ACC play. They made both the ACC and NCAA Tournaments, but were knocked out in the first round of each. The Eagles are currently in the midst of their spring season, which is used for development.
