Eagles in the Pros 3/20 - 3/26: Patrick Eaves Scores Three Times for Anaheim

Eaves, Joe Whitney, and Teddy Doherty were the only former Eagles to score goals last week.

The big news last week was Austin Cangelosi, Ryan Fitzgerald, Scott Savage, and Colin White going pro. And beyond that, it was a mostly quiet week for Eagles in the professional leagues.


Cam Atkinson (Columbus Blue Jackets): Atkinson had a rare goal-less week last week.

Brian Boyle (Toronto Maple Leafs): Boyle had 9 hits over 4 games last week, as well as 4 blocked shots.

Patrick Brown (Carolina Hurricanes): Brown recorded 8 hits over 3 games before returning to the AHL on Sunday.

Paul Carey (Washington Capitals): Carey was a healthy scratch after being called up to the NHL.

Brian Dumoulin (Pittsburgh Penguins): Dumoulin was elbowed pretty nastily in the face last week but seems to be fine. He and the Penguins have clinched a playoff berth.

Patrick Eaves (Anaheim Ducks): Eaves scored three times last week (twice against the Rangers) and now has 27 goals on the season.

Johnny Gaudreau (Calgary Flames): Gaudreau recorded 4 assists over 3 games last week.

Brian Gionta (Buffalo Sabres): Gionta had a quiet week last week, but played in all 3 of Buffalo’s games.

Stephen Gionta (New York Islanders): Gionta played in 1 game last week and recorded 4 hits.

Noah Hanifin (Carolina Hurricanes): Hanifin recorded his 20th assist of the season in a win over Montreal.

Jimmy Hayes (Boston Bruins): Hayes saw 6 minutes of ice time in the one game he played in last week.

Kevin Hayes (New York Rangers): Hayes recorded 1 assist last week.

Chris Kreider (New York Rangers): Kreider picked up an assist against Anaheim on Sunday.

Mike Matheson (Florida Panthers): Matheson recorded 3 SOG, 6 hits, and 5 blocked shots over 3 games last week.

Brooks Orpik (Washington Capitals): Orpik recorded 7 SOG, 6 hits, and 3 blocked shots over 3 games. He also picked up an assist.

Zach Sanford (St. Louis Blues): Sanford recorded 2 assists in the Blues’ 4-2 win over Colorado last week.

Steve Santini (New Jersey Devils): Santini had 7 SOG and 11 hits over 3 games last week. He was a healthy scratch for one game.

Cory Schneider (New Jersey Devils): Schneider earned a win and a loss last week. He made 38 saves in the win over the Rangers.

Ben Smith (Toronto Maple Leafs): Smith had 2 SOG in 1 game last week.

Miles Wood (New Jersey Devils): This fight was Woods’ big moment last week.


Austin Cangelosi (Albany Devils): Cangelosi has yet to play for Albany after signing with them.

Thatcher Demko (Utica Comets): Demko earned a win and a loss last week.

Ryan Fitzgerald (Providence Bruins): Fitzgerald recorded his first professional point with an assist on Sunday.

Ian McCoshen (Springfield Thunderbirds): McCoshen played in all 3 of Springfield’s games last week and continues to see significant ice time.

Philip Samuelsson (Charlotte Checkers): Samuelsson has looked better since being traded from St. John’s to Charlotte. He recorded 3 assists last week over 4 games.

Scott Savage (Cleveland Monsters): Savage played in 1 of Cleveland’s 3 games after signing an ATO.

Rob Scuderi (Ontario Reign): Scuderi did not play last week. One would have to assume that he’ll retire at the end of the year.

Alex Tuch (Iowa Wild): Tuch played in all of Iowa’s games last week but didn’t record any points.

Joe Whitney (Tucson Roadrunners): Whitney scored a goal in Tucson’s OT loss to Texas last week.

Colin White (Binghampton Senators): White signed an ATO with Binghampton late on Sunday.


Patch Alber (Adirondack Thunder): Alber recorded 1 assist last week.

Teddy Doherty (Manchester Monarchs): Doherty scored Manchester’s first goal in a 5-1 win over Reading and recorded 2 assists in a 7-4 win over Elmira.

Adam Gilmour (Quad City Mallards): Gilmour continues to create much more offense in the ECHL than he has been able to in the AHL. He recorded a goal and 2 assists over 3 games last week.

Parker Milner (South Carolina Stingrays): Milner earned 3 wins last week, playing in 3 of South Carolina’s 4 games.


The NWHL season is over. Many of the Eagles in the NWHL are currently fighting USA Hockey for equal treatment.


The CWHL season is over.


Barry Almeida (Coventry Blaze): The Blaze’s season is over following a loss on Sunday.

Nathan Gerbe (Geneve-Servette HC): Geneve-Servette’s season is over.

Tim Kunes (Stavanger Oilers): Kunes picked up the primary assist on Stavanger’s 2nd goal in a 4-0 win over Sparta last week.

Pat Mullane (HC Karlovy Vary): Mullane did not play last week - he is injured.

Ryan Shannon (ZSC Lions): ZSC’s season appears to be over, which means Shannon has retired. He will return to the US to coach prep school hockey.

Dave Spina (TPS): Spina did not play last week.

Cam Spiro (Gentofte): Spiro has 31 points in 41 games this season. Gentofte’s season is over.


Brad Barone (Mississippi River Kings): Barone made 30 saves in a 4-3 loss to Pensacola on Saturday.

Brian Billett (Knoxville Ice Bears): Billet played twice last week, picking up both a win and a loss against Peoria.
