Tatiana Cortez Sets Program Home Run Record for Boston College Softball

Congrats to Cortez!

softball celebration

During yesterday’s first game, a 4-2 win over Pittsburgh, Boston College senior Tatiana Cortez set the program record for home tuns, hitting her 42nd career homer. Cortez passed Tory Speer (BC class of 2014) to set the new Boston College record.

Cortez’s home run yesterday was not only the 42nd of her career, but her team-leading 8th of the year. She currently has a .329 batting average this year.

Cortez scored a career high 13 home runs and 54 hits last season and recorded a career high .380 batting average. The Eagles have 25 regular season games remaining this year, so with 8 home runs and 26 hits already it seems likely she will at least set a new season-best for home runs this year. And each home run she hits for the rest of her career and Boston College will break her own program record!

Cortez and the Eagles return to the field on Friday, March 31 to face Syracuse.
