BC Softball has continued its strong start to its young season, with its second straight series victory to begin ACC play. In their series against Pittsburg this weekend, the Eagles won the first two before dropping the last two.
In the opener, Jessica Dreswick got the ball and did not hand it over. She threw a complete game, allowing four hits and two earned runs to get another win. Lexi DiEmmanuele had all three Eagle RBI to lead the offense to the come-from-behind 3-2 win.
In the second game, Jordan Weed allowed one run over four innings, followed by Jessica Dreswick allowing one run in the final three frames. The Eagles scored all four of their runs before the Panthers got on the scoreboard, eventually winning 4-2. The offense was paced by a Tatiana Cortez solo shot and two more Lexi DiEmmanuele RBI.
In the finale, Jessica Dreswick took the bump looking for a sweep. Unfortunately, errors plagued the Eagles as the Panthers scored two runs on BC mishaps. The only runs for the Eagles came on a Chloe Sharabba home run that plated Cortez.
In the next week, BC will face UML, Central Connecticut State, and Syracuse to open up softball on the Heights!
