Boston College Women’s Tennis Earns First Ever Win Over Miami

BC is now 3-4 in the ACC.

The Boston College women’s tennis team defeated #37 Miami yesterday, earning the program’s first ever victory against the Hurricanes. Boston College won handily, earning a 6-1 victory and improving to 8-7 overall.

The Eagles won 5 of the 6 singles matches. Asiya Dair was the only Eagle to lose a singles match, and she was facing Estela Perez-Somarriba, who is ranked 33rd in the county. After losing the first singles match, BC won 5 straight. Lexi Borr won her match in straight 6-4 sets while Dasha Possokhova picked up a 6-4, 6-0 win. Kylie Wilcox and Emily Safron both played close games, earning 7-6 wins in their final sets. Freshman Elene Tsokilauri closed things out for BC with a 6-2, 6-1 victory.

The Eagles also won the doubles point, winning 2 out of the 3 doubles matches. Dasha Possokhova, Kylie Wilcox and Elene Tsokilauri, all freshmen, won in both singles and doubles.

The Eagles return to action today against Louisville at 10 AM.
