Reports are suggesting that Colin White is close to signing a deal with the Ottawa Senators, ending his NCAA career early to go pro. Many expected White to sign last spring, so it is not surprising that he’s negotiating an NHL deal now that BC’s season is over. White is expected to sign before tomorrow evening.

White was drafted by the Senators in the first round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, 21st overall. He had 43 points as a freshman at Boston College and recorded 33 points this past season. He was a member of the gold medal winning USA World Junior Championship team in 2017 and scored 7 points in tournament play.
The Senators are 39-23-8 this season, a huge improvement over last year. White will likely make the jump straight to the NHL, but if he sees any AHL time it will be with the Binghamton Senators (who will become the Belleville Senators next season).
