Good Week for BC Softball

Boston College Softball has continued its strong start to the season for another week, going 3-2 against Penn, South Florida, and Virginia.

An 8-1 win against Penn got the week started, as Kendra Friedt threw 6 innings of one run softball, and Tatiana Cortez got the offense rolling with a grand slam in the first inning and a three run home run in the 7th, completing her 7 RBI game.

Later that day, the Eagles fell, 6-4, at the hands of South Florida. Jessica Dreswick went an inning and a third, allowing one run, while Jordan Weed threw an inning and two thirds, giving up 3 earned. Chloe Sharabba and Cortez both hit home runs to get some runs on the board.

To open up ACC play, the Eagles took two of three from the Virginia Cavaliers. Dreswick threw a 3 hit shutout, as Cortez continued her hot week with a two RBI triple to lead BC to a 4-0 win.

In the second game, Jordan Weed got roughed up again, giving up 5 runs in four and a third innings pitched. Carly Severini and Jordan Chimento each had one RBI to pace the Eagle offense in the 5-4 loss.

In the finale, the Eagles pulled away from the Cavaliers with a 10-3 victory. Jessica Dreswick got the win in another strong outing, increasing her record to 9-4. Tatiana Cortez had another three RBI game to lead the offense to victory.

This upcoming week, the Eagles will face Pittsburgh.
