The Boston College women’s tennis team earned a 7-0 win against Boston University yesterday, a great note to end on before heading into ACC play. The Eagles have won every singles match over their past two games, and 6 BC players won both singles and double matches yesterday.
The Eagles had their strongest doubles showing of the year against the Terriers. Dasha Possokhova & Kylie Wilcox and Lexi Borr & Emily Safron both defeated their opponents 6-1, while Asiya Dair & Jackie Urbinati earned a 6-4 victory.
The Eagles won all 6 of their singles matches in straight sets. Asiya Dair defeated Iryna Kostirko 6-3, 7-2 in the first singles match of the day. Senior Lexi Borr won both of her sets by a score of 6-1, while fellow senior Emily Safron won with scores of 6-2 and 7-5. Freshman Dasha Possokhova won in straight 6-2 sets, and rookie Kylie Wilcox defeated Remi Ramos 6-3, 6-4. Sophomore Jackie Urbinati closed out the day with a 6-2, 6-1 win.
This was the conclusion of non-conference play for the Eagles, who are currently 0-1 in the ACC after a loss to Virginia. BC resumes ACC play tomorrow, when they face Syracuse.
