Eagles in the Pros 2/13 - 2/19: Brian Billett Leads Knoxville Ice Bears to Victory With Stellar Goaltending

Featuring great goaltending in the SPHL, Jimmy Hayes’ 100th career NHL point, and more goals for Kate Leary.

Not too many goals for former Eagles this week, but there was still some good stuff. Brian Billett had a phenomenal week, Mike Matheson played some great defense, and Kate Leary continues to score a lot.

NHL

Cam Atkinson (Columbus Blue Jackets): Atkinson assisted on Columbus’ first goal in a 2-1 victory over Pittsburgh.

Brian Boyle (Tampa Bay Lightning): Boyle recorded an assist in both of Tampa’s games over the weekend.

Patrick Eaves (Dallas Stars): Eaves recorded 12 shots on goal and had 2 assists over 3 games last week.

Johnny Gaudreau (Calgary Flames): Gaudreau continues to struggle to score and picked up no points last week.

Brian Gionta (Buffalo Sabres): Gionta played in all 4 of Buffalo’s game last week but was quiet on offense.

Stephen Gionta (New York Islanders): Gionta played in all 4 of the Islanders’ games last week and picked up 2 assists.

Noah Hanifin (Carolina Hurricanes): Hanifin played in both of Carolina’s games last week, both of which were losses.

Jimmy Hayes (Boston Bruins): Hayes picked up his 100th career NHL point with an assist of Sunday.

Kevin Hayes (New York Rangers): Hayes had a goal and an assist in NY’s win over Columbus. He scored unassisted on a breakaway, faking out the goalie to sneak the puck in the net.

Chris Kreider (New York Rangers): Kreider set up the GWG in NY’s 2-1 win over the Caps.

Mike Matheson (Florida Panthers): Matheson had 6 SOG, 1 hit, and 5 blocks over 3 games last week. He continues to get a significant amount of ice time with Florida.

Brooks Orpik (Washington Capitals): Orpik had a mostly quiet week except for a fight.

Zach Sanford (Washington Capitals): Sanford scored his second NHL goal in Washington’s loss to Detroit.

Steve Santini (New Jersey Devils): Santini had 6 SOG, 6 hits and 7 blocks last week, as well as an assist.

Cory Schneider (New Jersey Devils): Schneider made 28 saves and 32 saves in 2 losses last week and made 40 saves in a 3-2 win over the Islanders.

Ben Smith (Toronto Maple Leafs): Smith played in all of Toronto’s games last week and recorded 1 assist.

Alex Tuch (Minnesota Wild): Tuch had 1 SOG, 2 hits, and 4 blocked shots over 3 games last week.

Miles Wood (New Jersey Devils): Wood scored the first goal in NJ’s loss to the Islanders.
