Boston College Lacrosse Ranked 5th in Preseason ACC Poll

The Eagles are ranked 17th overall going into the season.

The ACC released the preseason women’s lacrosse rankings for 2017 today, and Boston College is tied for 5th. The Eagles received 29 points in the poll, tying with Virginia. The poll is decided by the ACC’s head women’s lacrosse coaches.

The Eagles play in one of the more difficult women’s lacrosse conferences. There are 8 teams that play D1 women’s lax in the conference, and 7 of them ranked in the top 20 teams in the NCAA this preseason. Defending NCAA Champions, North Carolina, are first in both the ACC and the NCAA to start the season.

The 2017 preseason ACC rankings are as follows:

2. Syracuse (52)
3. Notre Dame (50)
4. Duke (37)
T5. Boston College (29)
T5. Virginia (29)
7. Louisville (20)
8. Virginia Tech (8)

The Eagles begin the season on Saturday at Holy Cross and begin ACC play on February 11th at Syracuse.
