Things aren't looking good for the BC women’s lacrosse team, as they dropped an easy game against an unranked Virginia Team today. BC had won its last 7 meeting against Virginia Tech, and this loss will likely bump the Eagles out of the Top 20.
Despite the loss, both Kate Weeks and Kaileen Hart had strong games for BC. Hart had a career high 4 points and scored her first collegiate hat trick, while Weeks recorded 4 goals and 1 assist. Sam Apuzzo also scored twice, and now leads the nation in scoring with 26 points.
Much like all BC teams lately, the women’s lax team played fairly well in the first half of today’s game. They opened the scoring and went into the second half leading 7-6. The Hokies came out hot in the second, scoring 6 goals in the first ten minutes of the half, and would maintain the lead for the rest of the game.
BC returns to action on Wednesday at 3, when they will face UConn in Connecticut.
