The Boston College women’s lacrosse team earned a win against BU on Wednesday, bringing their record to 3-1 this season. The Eagles defeated the Terriers in a close game, ultimately earning a 13-11 victory.

The Eagles scored first, with a goal from Sam Apuzzo just 4 minutes into the game. BU scored two quick goals a minute later, taking their first and only lead of the game. The Eagles regained the lead by scoring 3 unanswered goals, but by halftime the game was tied 7-7.

BC was able to extend their lead a few times in the second half, but BU continued to fight, cutting down every lead that BC built. Despite outshooting the Terriers 38-27, BC won by only 2 goals, ending the game with 13 goals to BU’s 11.

Apuzzo was the star player in today’s game. She scored a career high 6 goals, including the first goal of the game and the game-winning goal. Apuzzo has 12 goals so far this season, putting her in 4th place in the NCAA.

BC struggled a bit with goaltending early in the game - Zoe Ochoa let in the first two shots she faced and ultimately allowed 7 goals on 13 shots. Lauren Daly, a sophomore, earned her first career win at BC after taking over in net at the start of the second. She stopped 10 of the 14 shots she faced.

The Eagles return to action at 11:30 AM on Saturday. The will play Virginia Tech in Virginia, which should be an easily winnable game for the Eagles.
