NCAA Basketball: Pittsburgh at Boston College Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

Since Jan. 11, the Boston College Eagles have been on a eight game schnide. The Eagles look to fix that against Georgia Tech.

How Did Ga. Tech Do Last Time Out?

Basketball: Georgia Tech Wins Thriller to Upset #14 Notre Dame, 62-60

What to Watch for Against Ga. Tech:

  1. Ga. Tech is actually good: Hey, remember when we all thought that Georgia Tech wasn’t going to be that good? Like around the time Ga. Tech finished just ahead of BC in the ACC preseason rankings? Yeah, after a few upsets, the Jackets are on the tournament bubble. This is going to be a tough team to play on the road, and it’s not like BC is playing its best basketball right now.
  2. Getting it together: The team seems to have lost its way coming down the stretch, with Jim Christian openly questioning the amount of passion his team had in the game against Pitt Wednesday. BC needs to refocus and keep going through the season.

Alcoholic Accompaniment of the Game:

I spent all of this time in Athens, Georgia, and I didn’t have the common sense to try something local. I have failed you.

R.E.M-It’s the End of the World

The University of Georgia probably has more of a stake on R.E.M. than Georgia Tech, but R.E.M. is a local band, and with the past week in BC sports with the hockey team (save for a big win Tuesday evening) and some basketball struggles, it seems like everything is bad.

Yes I know it’s a yellow jacket, I’m still scared.

Predictions:

Georgia Tech might make the NCAA Tournament. Right now they are in the first four out in Joe Lunardi’s bracket. If they don’t make the NCAA’s, they are a sure thing for NIT’s. Either way, BC isn’t at Ga. Tech’s level.
