Jeff Goodman of ESPN confirmed the news that most BC fans were dreading about 5th year forward Teddy Hawkins.
BC loses Deontae Hawkins for the rest of the season due to a knee injury, school spokesman Mike Laprey told ESPN. Tough blow to Eagles.
— Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanESPN) December 6, 2017
Hawkins initially got good news when he was evaluated in Nebraska and was told there wasn’t significant damage. However, after being evaluated by BC doctors and getting a third opinion from the medical staff of the Boston Celtics it was determined Hawkins has an injury which will keep him out for the year.
BC will try to gain a 6th year of eligibility of Hawkins.
The loss is obviously a huge blow to the Eagles. Hawkins was the third scorer on the team that was so desperately needed to compliment Jerome Robinson and Ky Bowman.
