Boston College to Play Iowa in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl

The Eagles get what they hoped for!

There was a lot of suspense and a lot of waiting, but Boston College is set to play in the Pinstripe Bowl on December 27th against the Iowa Hawkeyes in Yankee Stadium.

There was a lot of chatter about whether or not the Eagles would get kicked out of the ACC bowl tie-ins due to Florida State becoming bowl eligible at the last minute and Notre Dame being left out of the NY6. The committee’s decision to put Alabama in the top four (instead of the traditionally ACC Citrus Bowl) opened up 10 spots for 10 bowl eligible ACC teams.

The Eagles will play a talented Iowa squad. Kirk Ferentz’s squad went 7-5 this year with a blowout win over B1G Champion Ohio State and extremely close losses to Michigan State and Penn State. Like the Eagles, the Hawkeyes are based on running the ball and stingy defense. Expect some old fashioned, smash mouth football. Or maybe AJ Dillon will start his 2018 Heisman campaign early and run all over them.

BCInterruption will have all the coverage leading up to and including the game over the next 24 days. With any luck the Eagles can avenge their infamous loss to Penn State in 2014. GET HYPE
