Today, 6 players signed NLIs to attend Boston College next fall and play for the women’s basketball team. The newest Eagles are Jenasae Bishop, Clara Ford, Marnelle Garraud, Lana Hollingsworth, Kate Klimkiewicz, and Taylor Soule.
Jenasae Bishop announced her commitment to BC last May. Bishop, a point guard from Indiana, received offers from a number of D1 programs. She is a 4 year varsity player at her high school and averaged 24.4 points per game last season.
Clara Ford is a 6’3” forward from Virginia. She is known for her ability to create scoring chances in the paint and for using her size to her benefit. She averaged 19.6 points and 11 rebounds per game last season and was named her team’s MVP.
Marnelle Garraud is a point guard from Lynn, MA who will come to BC from Noble & Greenough. Garraud is a quick player with strong passing skills. She averaged 4 steals per game as a junior and scored her 1,000th career point last season.
Lana Hollingsworth comes to BC from Australia, joining fellow Aussies Taylor Ortlepp and Georgia Pineau. Hollingsworth averaged 19 points per game for her high school last season and represented Australia in the Under-18 3x3 World Championships in 2017.
Kate Klimkiewicz is a solid two-way player from Virginia that will add some versatility to the Eagles’ roster. She plays at Paul VI Catholic High School, where she is a 1,000 point scorer and has won 3 Virginia Independent State School State Tournaments. Klimkiewicz is a strong 3 point shooter, which is something BC is missing after Kelly Hughes’ graduation.
Taylor Soule is a forward from Kimball Union Academy. She averaged 18 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists per game last season and scored her 1,000th point in February. Soule is particularly valuable for her rebounding prowess.
While the newest Eagles won’t hit Conte until next year, you can see BC WBB play again this Friday at noon.
