Tonight BC hockey will play a mid-week game against the UConn Huskies and former BC assistant coach, Mike Cavanaugh. The Eagles are coming off of a much needed 2 game winning streak against Merrimack, and should be fine against a struggling Connecticut team. The big storyline coming into tonight is Joe Woll’s game DQ against Merrimack for kicking. Luckily for BC (and unluckily for UConn), the Eagles have one of the best backup goalies in the NCAA - Ryan Edquist.

Ice Cream of the Game
Many of our other previews feature a beverage of the game, but this year we’ll be picking an ice cream dessert of the game for MIH games. Why, you ask? Because when Jerry York got the BC coaching job, he went out for ice cream sundaes to celebrate.
Ice cream is the official dessert of Connecticut, so for an easy Tuesday treat we suggest a classic sundae from White Mountain, right across from BC.

Cat Predictions
Every game, we have the cats of the Ellen M. Gifford Cat Shelter (located right across from BC at 30 Undine Road) predict the outcome of the games. The Gifford Cat Shelter is the oldest cageless, no-kill shelter in the USA.
This week, we have a special guest because I forgot that there was a Tuesday game and didn’t get shelter cat predictions this weekend! Blanche is not a Gifford cat, but she is Grant’s rescue cat so we support her.
“We put excruciating effort into getting Blanche to make a prediction. We gave her a couple pieces of cheese, which she loves, and then set her up for her prediction.
After several attempts she finally acknowledged the presence of the prediction cheeses. She took one sniff at the UConn cheese and bailed. So it looks to me like BC is going to come away with a 1-1 tie, with UConn tying it late.”
