Boston College running back A.J. Dillon was honored today as Offensive Rookie Of The Year and ACC Rookie Of The Year, per a release from the school:
“It is a true honor to be the first Boston College player to win this award,” said Dillon. “All the credit belongs to my teammates and coaches for helping me to be in this position. We have a special bond here at BC and I can’t wait to close out the season in a bowl game.”
Dillon, from New London Connecticut was originally committed to the Michigan Wolverines, before flipping to the Eagles shortly before National Signing Day. He finished his freshman campaign with 1432 yards, and 13 touchdowns, 2nd in yards among all freshmen and 15th overall. Over his last six games he rushed for 1099 yards (183 yards per game) with 11 touchdowns.
Dillon is the first Eagle in school history to win Rookie of the Year. Congratulations to A.J., this is a tremendous honor. Soar!
