Final Score: Providence College 86, Boston College 66

The Eagles looked the part of a bubble team through its first six games before they played their first real test tonight, the Providence Friars and it did not end well. With a twenty point loss, BC proved that, while they may be much improved over last year, they still have a few major steps to make before they can consider themselves a bubble team. While Deontae Hawkins and Ky Bowman had solid days with 19 points apiece, the Eagles failed to get much production elsewhere, as only Jerome Robinson also finished in double figures.

A major problem for the Eagles was their three point shooting, as they were only 5-23 from three point land, while Providence was 10-18. That’s a huge difference. However, the turnover battle was not completely lost by BC as they only had 10 turnovers and the Friars had 11. While that is an improvement over the Mohegan Sun tournament, the Eagles must continue to do well in the rebounding, turnovers, and three point shooting battles.

The Eagles next play at Nebraska.
