After losing to Duke on Friday, Boston College volleyball defeated Wake Forest yesterday to improve to 4-14 in the ACC. Last year the Eagles only won 3 ACC games, so this is a (tiny) improvement.
In the loss to Duke, BC fell 3-1 after winning the third set by a score of 25-18. Sophie West set a season high for BC, hitting .625 in the match and Jane DeJarld picked up her third straight double-double with 11 digs and 28 assists.
On Sunday, the Eagles honored senior Sol Calvete and graduate student Lynn Braakhuis prior to defeating Wake Forest (the Eagles’ remaining games will be played during Thanksgiving break). McKenna Goss had 11 kills and 11 digs in the game, which BC won in straight sets. The Eagles earned a comeback 25-22 victory in the first set before playing to an easy 25-15 victory in the second. The final set went back and forth, but BC ultimately came away with a 25-20 advantage. This was BC’s second win in straight sets this season.
