In today’s press conference Syracuse head coach Dino Babers talked his about his quarterback Eric Dungey and his availability against Boston College. Asked whether he could play or not Babers said "I would like to see if he could or he couldn't, but I wouldn't bet that he would (play)” according to Syracuse.com.
Dungey hurt his leg against Florida State and has missed the past two weeks due to the injury. This is big news for the Eagles, as he lit up Boston College in 2016 going 32 for 38 for 434 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. He also rushed for 54 yards.
Who will take his place? That isn’t exactly clear, with senior Zach Mahoney and redshirt freshman Rex Culpepper both competing for the starting gig. Mahoney has gone 46-90 with three touchdowns and four interceptions, while Culpepper has thrown 21-42 for 238 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions.
Syracuse is 4-7 and out of bowl contention.
